It's a safe area, and the Carnitas are awesome.
Typical busy urban area, but feels safe during shopping hours. Harrison Park a block away with lots of people out and around.
Safe & surrounded by some of the friendliest people. I always bring our Chicago visitors to Pilsen (and Carnitas Uruapan) not only for amazing food but for the cool vibe as well 😊 There are lots of murals and urban art in the area but the standout piece is a giant mosaic mural on Paulina x 18th. Sorry i veered off topic there 🤣 but yeah, it feels safe here crime-wise, just make sure the kids aren't darting on to the street cos 18th IS the main drag of Pilsen, lots of vehicles at busy times
