I don't know for sure about Casamento's. However, while deveined shrimp were indeed NOT common in New Orleans of the late 70's and early 80's, much my chagrin, (I was a little boy), I do find that most of the places I recently (1998-2015) patronized in NOLA, have deveined shrimp.
