if you live in Jefferson Parish and bring it to one of the vets that are participating in the fix a feline program you can get it fixed free. it's the fix a feline program, but you should call. some of the vets require the cat to be in a trap to bring it in. also, ask how much for a stray fix if it's not in a trap. maybe 10 or 15 dollars for an owned cat. you may also inquire about what shots it would need if it's an owned cat. stray/feral in traps are free which is with the TNR (trap neuter release) program, and i think it includes the rabies shot.
