Actually, there is plenty of food to take home at the soup kitchen after you eat your lunch or get it to go. the only day you can't get food to take home after you eat, is on Wednesday,. Because they have pantry day that day. Every other day though, you have a very large amount of fresh vegetables, sweets fresh fruits breads and some meat and deli items. Also check out the Christian Mission. You can get HUGE amounts of all kinds of food twice a month, and can get ten items from the store. There is a church that gives out precooked TV dinners once a week too. I think it's the bridge church on 21, but not sure. One of the other places can tell you, then there are several loaf and fishes locations arround like Ada Jenkins in Davidson and lots more. You will need a referral for those from school, social worker, church, etc. May God bless you and your family. 💜
