Hey Karen, this restaurant/bar as well as the west village neighborhood is very safe. I've left here very late in the night and i never felt nervous or concerned during the walk to the nearby subway stations, hope this eases your concerns!
Place is in a calm area, near homes and other restaurants. Ive been around the area very late night and it was calm and not loud.

Hi Karen. Feel relaxed. My Son and i took the subway from his aot in Morning side heights. We went from 147 th st and walked a couple of bkicks. I am from N.M. i am not a city person, but it is very safe. I was surprised how comfortable i felt.
It's a nice neighborhood & as safe as it is in a large city as NY
