The gnocchi is phenomenal, best in the area. I previously made a lower rating due to the gnocchi being off of the menu. It wasn't until the restaurant replied and told me the menu is updated daily depending on availability (did not know that, thought it was off for good). I am gladly changing my review to the 5 stars it originally was. Thank you Celeste.

Tried them twice. Didn’t deliver. Waiting over an hour both times. No email / call to say delivery wasn’t an option at that time.

I’m shocked this place has such a good rating on Google. Just left there and had to post this as a service to my fellow New Yorkers. Been living on UWS for 20 years and had never been here. Figured we’d try it. Dirty tables, rude staff, wrong order, inedible food. Good news is that there’s tons of other options.

I write this as a cynical critic of food and restaurants: Celeste is an irreplaceable neighborhood institution serving better, fresher, and more authentic Italian food than almost anyplace else in New York City. The proprietor is a hand-on maestro who controls quality with obsessive artistry and procures a rare list of imported wines you will not and cannot find elsewhere. There are few places like this left in any city anywhere- cash only, hand-picked ingredients of the highest quality cooked expertly to flawless perfection, and a dining experience that will leave non-smokers craving a cigarette. Worth the wait during busy hours. Hope and pray it never changes.
