Iam a computer tech i shop at microcenter frequently. The sale staff are very knowledgeable and will bend over backwards to help you. The 30 series graphics card is in high demand and right now getting anything delivered is hard just like trying to get an xbox series x or a ps5. Im also in management to tell a customer we dont have something is counter productive . just have to be patient.....
So, I got a 3080 from there last week, and had to wait 3 days (edit: separate days) overnight to get one. Here's what the supervisor, managers, and my three days of experience has told me: 1) They hardly know what they're getting in the shipments. They get sent a rough estimate, but they're not allowed to give specifics to customers. They will not tell you how many they have prior to day of, and opening. 2) They only get large shipments with releases (3060 TI), and a few large shipments here and there. Normally they get shipments on Saturday and Tuesday, from what I've heard, and even then it's no more than 10-15 of a single type, on a good day. Averages out in the single digits. 3) First come first serve. You wait overnight, if they have them, you get a voucher to buy it when the store opens. If you don't got a voucher, and you show up, SOL unless they got a big shipment. 4) Employees get first dibs. They might have them on the shipments, but the employees can buy 'em too.
