The water has been tested and it's fine for swimming. The merky cloudy is because of a clay bottom. My grandkids have swam in it quite often with no health problems. There are cat fish in the Lake and people are not allowed to fish near swimming areas. But we have our kids wear swim shoes in case of things that you can't see.
The water is merky and only about 3ft deep everywhere...and mosquitos and Flys will drive you crazy
Whoever said no swimming must not have been there. There are no lifeguards. As another person mentioned, there are two beaches for swimming. BUT, you have to get past all the nasty goose poop. Personally, I don't go swimming there, (ick) but see many kids in the water in the water at the beaches. I will put my feet in the water, as long as I can rinse them off later. You can rent paddleboats and canoes if you want to be on the water without getting into it. It used to be a Farmer's irrigation pond, so it's super shallow.

The water isnt clear ,i like to see my feet.so um ..maybe u mite tho.?? 2 steps in and no feet??!!! It has a grayish hue can't really explain it very cloudy.
