Are patients sedated during their stay an how does that effect them once their discharged? Do they be put on meds after the fact?

I have to go to trama unit can anyone please give me any input or suggestions about this place.I'm very skeptical and my kids are taking it hard cause I have to leave them.I just want to know is it worth it Thank u
