The housing choice voucher is a lottery they pick like 70 something people every year. The best way to describe it is they put everybody's name in something and they pick names out.
Harrisburg residency is not required in order to be selected. However, once selected, there are residency requirements in order to utilize the voucher. With regard to the wait list selection process, it is lottery based, i.e., the selection of potential participants is random. Unfortunately, there is generally at least 6 times more applications received by our office than the number of potential participants selected. Thank you for the question and good luck. No you can live outside the city or state and if selected you must use voucher in city of harrisburg for a year
