I was there recently. The guide lets you get a head start. I have a hard time getting around and we asked if we could head over to the entrance ahead of everyone else. There are 71 steps leading up to the cave. There are steps inside the cave as well. There are benches along the way and also a bench inside the cave. You can take your time. They understand. Enjoy it!
There are benches and multiple landings to rest on if needed.
There are fair amount leading down to the caves, 70 or so. In the system itself there are a few but they arent steep and all had railings.
They say there are 72 but I didn't count that many. It is kind of like three floors
There are steps - about 80 or so of i recall correctly to get down to and again back up from the caverns. There are also about a dozen steps inside the caverns as part of the tour, including a few 'informal' (natural) steps. It is probably close to 200 steps total down and back up through the tour. They do provide a few stops along the way for those who need a break in between flights.
