I work in the area and daily witness long lines, snow, rain, whatever, the lines are consistently long and I wanted to know what is the hype? Looking into the shop, there's nothing special. Are the bagels that good?

Yes, the bagels are worth the wait. We were in the city less than 24 hours and we went to Leo's. People who work in the area told us they have the best bagels in Manhattan. I don't have a frame of reference for that, but they are damn good bagels.
