Since when does it cost $30 to surrender an animal to this shelter? I've taken stray cats in for free before now I have three guinea pigs from someone who couldn't keep them and the spca says it would be $30 to bring them in.

They did change their policies recently. It isn’t cheap to care for all of the animals that are surrendered. $30 is a very small donation.

They have always asked for a donation when you drop off. So ppl must not donate so they made it policy i guess

A stray maybe different due to the nature of leaving them on the streets but a surrender is different. Do you know how much it costs them to house, feed and care for these animals.
