I’m a high school student who loves animals and would like to volunteer here and I was wondering how old do you have to be to volunteer and what is the process of being able to volunteer

I believe you have to be 18 years old to volunteer on your own. Go to their website and click on the tab to become a volunteer. You need to reach out to them and sign up to attend a short training session. If you want to walk dogs, you will need to attend a second training session that focuses on dog walking. After the first training session, they will email you a background check form that you must complete and return. Once the background check comes back they will email you and let you know if you are approved to be a volunteer. Then you have to buy a volunteer shirt ($15). Once approved and with a volunteer shirt you can show up anytime during volunteer hours and pet cats or walk dogs.

You have to be 16+ to be a volunteer (I signed up at 17!). Orientation for anyone interested is held every Saturday at 10AM, you can fill out an application there, and there is a training session for dog walking on Sunday. After your background check you'll get an email with the volunteer hours and a link to the volunteer Facebook page. A great place to stay updated on events and holiday volunteer hours.
