If someone has a traffic warrant are you allowed to call the courthouse to get a new courtdate

In order to get a new court date, you have go up to the courthouse and pay the fine first. Then request a new court date, so if you don't show for the second one they already have your money...went threw the process already

Usually with a warrant you would write to the clerk of the court explaining why you missed your previous court date and asking that the warrant be recalled and a new court date issued. The clerk will forward your letter to a judge who will make a determination. You could also call the sheriff and make arrangements to turn yourself in.You will be processed and released with a new court date. Hint** do this very early in the morning so you may be released by early afternoon. At least this is how it's done in Circuit Court. I'm assuming District Court is the same.
