I have a large library of specialized books of mainly modern American and Latin American art. I would like to know if you buy such books? I am planning to see some 100 titles, hard copy books, only used by me (NYU professor and curator).

Why aren't you calling the store directly? Besides, there are at least 4 major bookstores which appraise books and buy books. Alabaster is not that large and cannot keep such a large inventory. Get current prices online at Amazon or Barnes and Noble marketplace but looking up the individual isbns, noting conditions. Check Strand, Argosy, Alabaster, Book Culture, and Mercer Books-they all buy. Otherwise you will get ripped off. Stores will all try to cherry pick the books they want and leave unpopular titles in your hands or give you less for them. If you have a few books (10 or less) which you really want to get a fair price for and can substantiate that value by checking the other stores, you can probably get close to it from Alabaster. But I can't see them taking all of the Books-they just do not have room. Strand will certainly rip you off for the better books, and Argosy will probably do the same. Mercer will be fair also so you can divide the lower value books among them.
