Great book store and cafe. Cafe staff are always kind and friendly. The bookstore has a wide selection and beautiful decorated. But very often the employees behind the bookstore counter come across rude and stuck up.

This place is one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn, full stop. I've been a member for nearly a year, and I love everything about it! The space is beautiful, the cafe always has amazing drinks (plus a super friendly and incredible staff that can make both coffee and cocktails!!), and the library selection for members is fantastic. Highly recommend!

Been coming regularly since pandemic faded. Wonderful atmosphere for working. Programs with fascinating writers reading and discussing their work. Cafe staff (Ceara, McClain & Scott in particular) are joyous and accommodating -- make a mean latte.

Our auditorium seats 140 people
There is a member's lounge upstairs, but, as the name suggests, one needs to be a member. To the best of my knowledge, computers are not allowed (to encourage reading of books,) but talking is. There is a seating area downstairs for the café, but I'm not sure if it's currently open.
