Gone downhill. This used to be a bustling little store with lots of Chinese books and gifts. Now nobody goes there, and it's because everything is overpriced. I finally found a paper lantern that I was prepared to buy for $9.99, and the cashier promptly decided that the price tag was wrong; it was supposed to be $12.99. I laughed and walked out of the store. I wonder whether anyone else shopped there today. I'm guessing no.

This is the best Chinese bookstore in New York! I am the writer for Beijing Daily, and I love this store so much, even come to there once a week, still feeling so sad that I dont have more time to spend in there. This store is doozy! It is so incredibly hot once you get inside and I had a very hard time finding the entrance. Also every book here is in Chinese! If you do not speak fluent Chinese I have a hard time recommending this location as you will find little merchandise that you would be able to consume. This was all to be expected however as this is NOT a location for non-locals. I did find a sweet little book so I can't say the trip was all for nothing.
