I think they require you to bring anyone, including other dogs to make sure everyone gets along. I would wait til you pick out your dog first, have them hold the dog until you return with yours.

Generally, it is always good to make sure that your dog and the new dog get along. Even if they get along well with other dogs; they, like us, all have different personalities. It wouldn't hurt, and it's always smart to prevent returning a pet to the shelter.
