Yes, you need a license. The fishing is worth it. The tastiest fish because of the water. As busy as the campground is, it was peaceful, confortable, and friendly. We left the boat tethered, and although it was a walk the boat and contents were safe. We will be visiting Merrill again.
It would make sense that you would need a fishing license to fish.
I can't remember if there was or not. I can say that there was a couple place that you could walk out to the water and get in and play or swim but as for fishing and boating i can't answer that now
