Beautiful campground, great lake views and access, although the lake was low, could easily tie a boat up to the shore, good fishing too. The campground was well taken care of with I believe 22 bathrooms, clean and well stocked. No showers. Love this place, will be back.

A bit higher in price. No showers. No stores nearby. Lake water is low but is a nice view. Hosts were nice. Bathrooms and campgrounds were clean and maintained. It did feel more like an RV park though - everytime I said good morning or hello to someone I was ignored or like looked down upon since I was tent camping...

Lovely campground with lots of room for all. We stayed here with a 3 yr old and 2 month old and felt that we had enough space to not bother anyone with the noises. There's a nice sandy beach just a short walk from the campsites. Next time we will prepare to use the 6 mile paved bike trail. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean!

I stayed for 2 nights as a walk-in. I already thought it was overpriced at $30/night. The charge to my card was for $222.43! I have called and emailed, but have yet to hear from them. I had a hard time funding the remainder of my trip because I lost $162.43! Horrible!

Keep it in the pit. Plenty of wood just down the road no need to pay for it...
So far, yes
Check first to see if, A-1 is open from Susanville, Ca. On Sunday 07/26/2020 HWY was closed. Yes, you have to go around Eagle lake the other way on HWY 139 Have a safe trip.👍
Hello Bonnie, Merrill Campground is located in the Eagle Lake Recreation Area of the Lassen National Forest. This recreation area has five campgrounds, three designated day use areas and a marina on the south shore of Eagle Lake. All of these recreation facilities are connected by a 5.2 mile paved hiking/bike trail. I hope this helps. Thank you, Vista Recreation.
I don't know. I left the day before. But the fire wasn't close enough at that time, so I doubt it.
First come first serve doesnt mean someone hasn't already reserved it online. If it was me, I'd see what I could reserve online, to (possibly) ensure a site. Their online reservation system has really been screwing up lately. Over the Independence Day weekend, RV after RV was turned away. It's an awesome place to camp. Also check to see if Eagle Lake Rd is open yet. It was closed recently due to the Hog fire.
Not in the campground. You have to go to the Lake Marina, they have showers you can use though they sell you tokens to use their showers.
Yes need license 2 fish per day
Ck with Susanville Chamber of Commerce It is NOT OPEN YEAR AROUND but don't know the closing date.
Usually around November 1 or the first snowfall
The campgrounds were not affected by the fire. I'm sure as soon as the snow melts they will open. Usually Memorial Day.
Around $20 a night
180 day is correct, get a Julian calendar and count back, as this CG is popular.
Lasson college is the sub contractor for feds. I left a day early on Saturday. The simple was pretty bad.
