Hi Cynthia. We have recently become contracted partners with Forsyth County Animal Control. We are now an open admissions shelter in hopes that we can increase the save rate of Forsyth County dogs and cats. This means we cannot turn animals away. We are on track to save so many more animals than we used to. However, we are limited by space and resources. We do, and have always euthanized for behavior if an animal digresses in the shelter and is no longer safe to our volunteers, staff, and the public. We also humanely euthanize for medical reasons. The difference now is that we must euthanize for space when we don't have the space to comfortably house these pets. We are increasing the save rate already, but cannot do it alone. We always need volunteers, fosters, support, and people to spread the word about spaying and neutering pets! Lastly, we need to be the very last resort for rehoming pets. Pets are members of the family and should be rehomed responsibly!
