You can also take your dog directly to the crematorium...I have done three this way. There is only one animal crematorium anywhere around here and it is the same one the vets send your dog to if you bring it to the vet. I saved quite a few dollars taking my Pugs to the vet for the euthanasia, then driving them to the crematorium myself. My first Pug went to her vet who'd cared for her her whole life and he arranged for the crematorium and it cost me a lot, lot less for a pair of Pugs some years later...different vet. In either case if you take then or leave them at the vet you have to go back about 7-10 days later to pick up the ashes.
