Teach the dog not to knock baby down. Don't get rid of your pet.
A 5 yo Pit Bull, added to an over populated shelter, is certain death. If he's well mannered, then I'm sure you can reconsider getting rid of him. Pets should not be disposable when you find them inconvenient.
Dont get rid of your family member just teach him how to be calm around the baby.. I have a pitbull and hes been around my nephew, my cousin and my sons when they were all babies and I explained to him he has to be careful and it worked I mean had to train him but now he is fine around babies they know just gotta remind them pitbulls are smart !
Trust me when I tell you your kid will thank you for keeping the dog because there's nothing better then a baby growing up with a dog. Pibbles are the best when it comes to babies and I personally know someone whose pit bull saved her infant's life when the baby stopped breathing. Don't get rid of your dog because you had a baby. What if he had 2 kids? Buy the kid a helmet. TRUST ME ON THIS!
If nobody comes through to take him please take the dog to a no kill shelter.
