Sometimes yes you have to go down there and see what's available
They have a helpful Pet Wish List, so if they do not have the particular breed of dog you are looking for at the time you are looking, they will contact you when a dog or cat or whatever comes in, you can specify age, gender, size or breed specific. I would say for any rescue, dog or cat, forget breed, meet them find one that you get along with, and adopt. Size is a little more different, if you live in a studio apartment you may not want a 100 pound dog. Just remember it is more important to just give them a home and give them the patience and time they need to thrive, you know you intend to give them a forever home, but they do not know that, it takes time to adjust.
Already been there. Thanks
I would suggest that you call the staff at the shelter or go there personally at least every other day or visit their web site on a regular basis to see if they have any German Shepherds available. Good luck and I sincerely hope that you find one very soon.
