I dont know about intern program but definitely would be worthwhile. Great place

The GSTC has both a volunteer program and an AmeriCorps program for qualified individuals who enlist in service contacts for 6-12 months. The AmeriCorps positions are highly completive and posted online at the JIA careers page twice annually. There is no formal internship program.

Visit the Jekyll Island Authority office next door. They are the Admin for the island offices, tourism and it's volunteer programs. They are super nice!
