This is one of the most unfriendliest shelters I've ever encountered. They don't seem to care a thing about the animals there. Try not to take them there.
No, you cannot just show up at shelter to surrender pets without an appointment. You will have to take them to a rescue or another shelter. Appointments are booked in advance. A good time to call is when you first stopped paying rent. Renters should not have dogs. Dogs are a lifetime commitments. Try Charlotte Humane Society or C.A.R.E. in Cleveland County. Gaston shelter just filled up with all the dogs that had been.held by citizens for the last month. You'll need valid ID and proof of ownership. Take copies of vet records.
Just go in with them. I believe they will take them
