Do you still have him?
My wife and I would love to have the fur baby. Our little Shih Tzu we had for 13 years passed about 2 weeks ago.
Do you still have him please
Go there & see available dogs.. even if the one u were interested in is adopted, u may make a connection with another dog who needs u 😍
I will take him if still available right now
Interested! Is he still available?
Very interested! How can I contact you Monica?
Free homes are dangerous now. Bait dog searchers are out there. Please be responsible in placing this animal.
Are you in Gastonia
What kind of dog?Do u still have
You have any pictures of them
Puppies always go fast at Animal Control. They will get there shots, deworming and that is a bonus
If you're the legal owner google for breed specific rescue or eldetly dog rescue.
Please stop by the shelter to view the cats who are currently here. Also visit- http://www.gastongov.com/government/departments/police/animal_care_and_enforcement/lost_and_found.php
Yes i will take n
You would need to call 704-866-3300 to dispatch an officer.
To meet adoptable dogs, please visit our facility during business hours. Once you find a dog you like we will help you with the application process. If you need to schedule an appointment to surrender a pet, call 704-922-8677.
We do not offer vaccinations for pets. We do sponsor an annual free rabies vaccination clinic in the spring at the Gaston County Health Department
Hello Robin! We do not always have donations available, but when we do, all you would need to do is come by and out staff will provide any resources we can. You can also call ahead if you would like to know what's available before making the trip.
This is one of the most unfriendliest shelters I've ever encountered. They don't seem to care a thing about the animals there. Try not to take them there.
I don't think they are accepting dogs or cats right now because of outbreaks. What type of puppy is it?
Buy some poison all I can say or set a trsp
What is an re-homing fee? And how much?
No sure
You may surrender if the shelter has room but GCAC would like for you to try to find them new safe caring homes and rehome animal(s) with a small rehoming fee (fee: to ensure the person is really wanting the animal) & bc of the shelter being sometimes overcrowded! Have wonderful day!
I haven't been to.the Gaston County animal shelter.
You have to make a appointment to turn them in, just had the same problem you have. Took them 5 weeks to get back to me. The animal shelter in Gaston county is very big and nice but it is terribly ran. The place is poorly staffed and they don't care to be bothered by your problem. Took me three times talking to them before I could get them the wild kittens that had taken over my shed. They told me if I couldn't bring them at the time they gave me then I would have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks. It's not as simple as you would think to surrender wild animals. So good luck to you.
Yes
Try craigslist
Probably unless a kind staff member took the dog home for the night.
Show pictures
They open at 11, you can call them. They are friendly and easy to work with!
Call Gaston County Animal Care and ask for the Adoption Coordinator
We got a Pitbull and she is the sweetest! They have many other dogs but Pitbulls make up a vast majority of them
Where we stay, we can't have dogs over 25 pounds, no pitbulls, german shepherds, Rottweilers or other breeds that are considered "dangerous" (even though no breeds are dangerous. They're only like that if you raise them to be of course. But landlord won't allow them -_-)
If I were you I would call on Monday and speak to the Happy Tails team. Another great option is Tri-County Rescue in Alexis or Northmeck Rescue in Mathews

This isn't a question. Instead, I have one for you... The shelter is already full of dogs who were dumped by their owners, so what's one more?
I was there yesterday asking the same question. They said they don't do the walks anymore, I'm assuming because of the new location.
The Animal control won't take cats in. I saw the dog catcher on my street the other day and ask him about it ( because we have a lot of feral cats on our street too ) and he said that cats are free range animals and they can't get em... Sorry you are having a problem with them. I live in the country so people just dump animals they don't want. It is very said indeed.🙁
To surrender an animal to the shelter, you have to call before, and make an appointment to bring it in.
I have German Shepard//bulldog mix puppies. 5 was old. Free to good home
220 Leisure Ln. Dallas NC
Yes
No. It's a government holiday
Usually if it's during the day the animal control won't do anything, but if it's after mid-night they will speak to the owner. About the only time they issue citations is when the animal is abused, puppy farms, And neglect . Try going to be an hour or two earlier.
If you call Animal Control they will be able to help you but may (more than likely) charge you to remove the pet from your home/care.
The state says animal control has to hold a stray for 72 hours. If a private citizen has the dog you need to file a found report with animal control. After that it can be 10 to 14 days depending on the county.
I doubt it
There are limited intake where the shelter or rescue can pick the animals they take in and municipal shelters that are contractually required to take in all animals in that county. If you have time a rescue might be able to help , but they are usually staffed by foster families. You can try googling rescues in your area but it might be a few days to get an answer. Good luck!
Most Animal shelters ask that you take the found pets to the county you found them in. If someone is looking in SC they aren't going to think about contacting Gaston in NC.
Call the shelter and make an appointment to talk to an agent about owner surrenders
yes
Try OfferUp, Facebook (particularly the One Man's Trash/Junk local group), and Craig's List. Also Google dog rescue in Gaston County/Carolina . . . there are several of these.
Ive heard tri county is the best place for adoptions. But truly any animal rescue is good.
Pet smart. They take kittens
No it isn't
You can call the main number and the animal abuse will be investigated.
Sometimes they get in pot belly pigs I know in Lincolnton they get potbelly pigs also every once in awhile one time they had a goat I guess just go on the website Lincoln County Animal Control and check and see what they got
Take some pictures of him and post him around different social media. You can also call Gaston co animal shelter for some ideas. Also the low cost spay and neuter here in Gastonia could be some help plus you can advertise at there office , lastly you can post a free to good home at any local vet office. wish you luck.
Everything is $90 out the door.. This includes Rabies, Microchip, a d spay/neuter, if needed
They are not. They aren't even open on every Saturday. I believe that's just one a month.
You can just go to their website and look under adoptable pets just put in you want a dog what age it will take you to all the dogs you'll have to look through all the pictures to see if there's one that suits the size you're looking for
Try adoptapet.com
I'm looking to find a small dog. I will take her.
To see pets currently at our facility, visit http://egov.gastongov.com/adoptablepets. To limit your search to only those currently available for adoption, select Stage > Available.
We are an open admission shelter. This means we have to take anything that comes to us. Unfortunately this means at times we do have to euthanize but we do all we can to avoid that. We are the only shelter within Gaston County. If you need to rehome a pet you may list on Adoptapet.com or call us to schedule an appointment to surrender at 704-922-8677.
I can't answer that question I need to find a surrender place for my blue Pitt
Adoptablepets site is not working. It loads, but when I entered the search criteria then hit "search" nothing happened.
I do not know. I have never adopted one from them. I just get my tags from them. You would just have to call. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
They are open Saturday 11-2 pm not sure what the surrender hours are though
To see pets currently at the shelter, visit Petango.com/GCACE. All pets at the shelter are listed. When looking for a lost pet it is recommended to visit the shelter in person.
You can just bring her in.. but they will not accept her toys or belongings as far as I know. I would just call ahead before you take her. But as another suggestion... have you tried to list her on the free sites where you go to just give her away? Also, I hate to tell you this.. but at 9 years old.. they will probably euthanize her after 5 days if not adopted.
you can call animal control and leave an anonymous tip if you feel like you don't want to " get too involved "... but really want to help that poor dog out! Don't wait too long.. or it may be too late.
City sanitation or department of transportation (if in the roadway outside city limits).
i believe that you can. wish i could take one, but can't till the end of next month
I sent a message to a rescue. I am waiting for a reply. I didn’t see any rescue groups open right now.
It's the same as dogs Gaston county will not pick up stray cats or trap them.
Valid rescues with a 501c3 are able to pull an animal with no fee unless we have spayed/neutered the pet and microchipped ($10) the pet.
They do not do any intake at the shelter on Saturdays.
Yes they take kittens
Probably 18 not sure though.
That's fabulous that u want 2 do that! They can use all the help from the community that they can get! Please call the shelter asap
All you need to do is call and find out. I'm sure they would welcome the help especially walking the Dogs🐶🐩.
Well, I don't, but I'm sure they do. They certainly have trapped a number of other critters.
Last night I came to my home and in the porch there was a german shepard. I fed it and gave her water. I made friends today and she is giving me her paw. Her paw is bitten. She is limping bad. I looks like she wad in a dog fight. I want to know if you can pick her up and cure her. If she doesn't belong to nobody, I wanted to keep her. I need advise. Thank you!
$90 covers everything. Senior citizens or military get $20 off
if you pet is not spayed/neutered the tag is $35 and will always be a one year tag even with a three year vaccination, if your pet is spayed/neutered a one year tag is $10 and a three year tag is $25. As far as the chip and shots go local vets will be able to do shots and microchip the price differs from vet to vet.
Do you still have
We offer two free cat adoptions each week through Our Shelter Pets To Go! Program. Our adoptable kittens are $75 each and covers the first round of vaccines, exam, Spay/Neuter, FeLV/FIV test and county tag.
They do kill when overcrowded
I have two boxer mixed puppies need a home asap
Was it a puppy about 3 months, Male and has a blue collar?
We are sorry, that is not a service we provide due to our high call volume throughout the county. Our surrender hours are on Tuesday and Thursday from 1 pm until 3 pm.
