I worked at Roebuck Skate Center for three years, and Sk8erz is owned by a friend of Dina’s (the owner of Roebuck). I know hearing the same thing over the speakers can be irritating, but it’s for a good reason. If somebody’s kid is running around on the skate floor with no shoes, they could very easily be injured and/or injure someone else. If a parent on skates is carrying a child and God forbid, they fell, what do you think would happen to the 1 year old they’re carrying? Roebuck and Sk8erz have rules in place to protect the patrons. If someone doesn’t follow the rules, the employees have to address that. I understand that the kids paid to get in, but that doesn’t mean they can do whatever they want and put others at risk. Someone’s right to have a good time ends where another’s right to be in a safe environment begins. They don’t just make up rules to have them; there are reasons and examples of why those rules are necessary.
I love the place. My favorite hang out. But they need more solid open hours. They’ll be open all week one week then closed everyday but Thursday the next. I have to check their open hours the day before I want to go to see if I even can. Even if they say their open today yesterday day they have changed and said their closed Very irritating
I grew up going to Sk8ters I've always experienced a good time so sorry you had a bad experience maybe you should go again and maybe talk to the owner and let him know how you feel so your experience can be better he's very understandable. My nephews and niece still go there they go almost every weekend and they always have a good time so maybe it's just one time bad experience try it again I'm sure it can't get any worse only better!
