How is the SSA allowed to call someone from a private number? My stepfather missed an important phone interview. They are a government agency who should know better. Because of scams going around we don't answer private numbers.

I did have a scheduled phone interview. And that was also from a private #. But they left a voice mail and did call back as promised.
