I gave them one star awhile back, but my recent experience was much better. The wait was still long but they got me back, and were able to run tests and do x-rays that another ER couldn't due to Covid restrictions. They were friendly and cared as well as helped figure out what was ailing me, whereas other facilities would turn me away telling me it must be Covid, and they gave me good specialist referrals and followup information.

The personnel from the security guard to the check in person was horrible. I was humiliated trying to find out where my husband was.

Omg i was TOTALLY impressed. They had me in and out of there in less than nine hours (unlike st. Thomas west nash). They were very attentive, efficient AND quick to tend to the patient and get them out of there in timely manner. I checked in at 11 left at 3 on the 20th of September. Where on Monday when I checked in at st. Thomas west nash at 10 am they didn't have me out of there til 7pm. If I ever need an er again (which hopefully o dont) I'll nr coming back. So glad I took the publicized advice from Ava Paige yes the phenomenally talented Ava Paige Davis and came here.

I originally came to the er for an accidental overdose. Every nurse and doctor I talked to told me I “must’ve been trying to kill myself” and refused to believe anything I had to say. They then forced me into a mental institution where I had one of the worst experiences of my life. Later, I found out while I was at the ER a bipolar diagnosis was added to my chart by one of the doctors/nurses I talked to; without any explanation or notice. A few of them were extremely rude and condescending, even more so when I expressed how much I did not want to go to inpatient. I was spoken to like a child and was even threatened with sedation at one point. I felt extremely dehumanized and I have promised myself I will never go back to the ER again no matter the circumstances. Anyone who has a history of mental illness or suicidal ideation should absolutely be careful of what you say to the staff

Still there still free But my car smelled a little like Lysol
You get a private room as soon as they have one open.when lives are at stake, feelings are a lower priority.
You should be connected with a nurse or receptionist 24/7
Honestly, I'd be really surprised if Vandy DIDN'T have such a policy in place. But beyond any hospital policy, there are potential legal issues with videotaping in the ER....an ER is technically a "public space", so you would need to obtain WRITTEN permission from each & every person present before you could capture them on video (or even audio, if say they aren't in the frame but you can still hear them speaking on the video). Additionally, such a thing could potentially violate HIPPA laws, if any of the medical professionals, etc. who are captured on video are speaking abt protected health information related to any individual, and/or if any of their health paperwork/patient charts, etc. is visible on the tape. Overall, even if there isn't a policy in place prohibiting videotaping (&im sure there prob IS), it's not a good idea to do such a thing bc you'd be opening yourself up to a quandry of potential legal problems. Hope this helps!
I have gone through those doors twice over the years The people were not rude They did want answers to questions as fast as possible so they can do the great job they are known for BUT never rude Thank you healthcare workers !!!
