Yes, you can fish in the lake with a license. There are a few spots where the trail goes to the water, but not many. The lake itself is so very shallow all around, almost a marshland. So snags will be an issue. A fishing kayak would probably get you to some choice locations on the lake. Though be cautious not to disturb the water lillies.
