A slice of nature wedged between highways.

Awesome oasis in the outskirts of the capital city of P.A. I have also noticed that there are fish in the streams, so fishing is an absolute possibility! And it is also very exciting for the kids and just as much fun for the adults. Spend money or don't, but either way the family will enjoy themselves.

Awesome little nature trail / park next to industrial areas and highways. Feels pretty secluded for where it is at. I see turtles, frogs, fish, snakes, baby deer, etc here during the summer. It's a great nature place in the middle of the concrete jungle.

Cute little park, right off the highway. Unfortunately the highway cut through the park and took away additional acreage. There's a cute looking visitor center but it was closed while I was there. Restrooms available. There's a very nice boardwalk, but most of it is closed for needed repairs. Seems like they need additional funds to fix it.

.4 miles for the boardwalk so just under a mile if you loop around the nature center. It is handicapped accessible with ramps and benches. I have a relative with trouble walking due to hip issues and he's able to do most of the loop except the steep part by the nature center.
Contact Dauphin County Parks and Recreation.
You can. We encourage guests to bring a mask with them should you need them but in most cases you'll be able to maintain social distancing while on the trails.
There are two parking lot areas coming down the road with the industrial buildings on the right hand side. There's a paved Road at the main entrance with parking. The past is a big Peninsula Lake Loop that goes around for about four miles there are Trails which are gravel I wouldn't recommend skating bicycle thing would be great
