We spent 4-5 hours strolling around and seen quite a lot, but could easily have gone back for several days . A beautiful place.
It can bed as short as a few minutes to a few hours
As long as you want it to be! Walk a few minutes and enjoy what's there where you are, or like many Manhattanites, you can walk for hours and hours, days and days, seeing many different things. If you only have a bit of time, first think about what you like. Formal gardens (conservatory garden at 5th Ave and 103rd St), a rustic escape from the city (North woods, the ramble), areas you'd recognize from movies (across the park from 59th to 72nd)?
It really depends! Its 2.5 miles long and .5 miles wide totalling in over 800 acres! We stayed below 66th and we were in the park for a good hour and a half. Just depends on what kinds of activities you want to do that day. Carousel (warmer months), ice skate, art museum, exercise... So many options in one place!
If you start from 110th street to 59th street that's two miles one hour 45 minutes by bike 45 minutes Walking and talking with someone helps
