Bring your license, original birth certificate and social security card, and 2 other forms of identification from the state approved list at dmv.ny.gov. A regular drivers license is around $55.
I just transferred my New Mexico driver's license over to New York drivers license. I needed proof of resistance here in NY. I used a bank statement, insurance card, birth certificate, and social security card It cost me $117.50 to keep my class-A and it took about a week to get my photo license in the mail.
