Hi, i was born in this hospital back in 1971 and was wodnering how i can get an original birth certificate? the ones that looked like carbon copy and not the new looking ones? I think when i requested the newest one my name was spelled incorrectly.

I would check with the birthing department. When you walk in from 10th ave go to the right and keep walking further in until you see it.

you can go to health dept in NYC and ask for the original birth cert that is black and white that looks like carbon paper

You can go to church st in Manhattan to obtain your birth certificate it cost 15$ bring i.d

Cool but I dont think you could change it at the hospital itself.
