I went to North Shore last March looking for a Pom and was lucky enough to find a Pom. She came from a puppy mill in Oklahoma and was a day away from going to adoption unit from medical unit. I came back the next day and formally adopted her. If you're patient you can find a Pom there but don't be picky when it comes to color because they are few and far between.
The north shore is a rescue shelter, if you are looking for a Pomeranian, this might not be the place. Pure breeds are hard to find here , since they rescue alot of strays or abused dogs, they take dogs people no longer want. In fact because of this reason it's hard to pin down the type of dog you are getting. I have a 6 year old , pit lab mix and she is fine. We took her to the vet and she is healthy. I don't think you will find alot of the kind of dog you are looking for, but it costs nothing to go there and check it out. Going and seeing for yourself is the way to do it. They never really never know when or who brings in what kind of dog. I would check out their website and see if the type of dog you are looking for has been posted
DO NOT GET AN ANIMAL FROM NORTH SHORE....They lie about the animals, they're not upfront about what is truly wrong with them and after you adopt they lure you in with cheap vet visit prices but that's a front because they still don't tell you what's really wrong in fact they end up making them worse than they already are. I say this from experience: I got a 10 week old puppy (still don't truly know what breed) they said he only had kennel cough when in fact he has horrible allergies, he had multiple ear infections that their vet actually made worse and in a matter of 5 months I spent over $1000 trying to figure out what was truly wrong and fixing it. THIS PLACE IS DEPLORABLE! Do your homework and look at the reviews online and see how many bad reviews they have and more recently law suits.
