As far as the house accidents they make disposable diapers for dogs.

Hard to answer, you have to ask yourself if your dog is in pain?. I had a dog 14, he was in pain and not eating for a week at a time. We took Rocky to the Vet and he had cancer. So I would suggest taking your dog to his or her vet and than make your decision. If you dog is in pain you don't want them to suffer. It's a tough decision.
