We adopted a puppy at x-mas time and unfortunately he has grown way bigger than expected! The people at North Shore an.league had told us he wouldn't be over 25-30lbs. And Milo is over 40lbs. We can't keep him, what do we do?

Hmmm, sorry to hear that you cant keep Milo due to his weight or larger than expected size. The outcome for the adult size of puppies is always a guess. Some may end up smaller than expected. Many years ago, we adopted the "runt" from a litter of mixed breed pups. Dusty grew to about 95 lbs after a year! Maybe call North Shore and explain the situation. They may take him back. Whatever the outcome, please do what's best for Milo.

10 lb difference isn't too bad. I'm sure it was a guy right? We went there in March to adopt a small dog and this guy told us the dog we wanted would grow to be 70-80 lbs, based on the coloring of its coat. I knew it wouldn't be a large dog and later found this cool App that accurately guesses breeds. They had cattle dag and ? - the app filled in the blank with Jack Russel Terrier LoL. So our "70 lb dog" turned out to be 33 lbs but really if you looked at him @ 4 months old it was obvious he wasn't going to be large. So don't put too much weight into what they say at thie NSAL. The App is called dogscanner i think. Hopefully 10 lbs won't be a deal breaker for Milo.

North shore is always willing to help. I'm sure they will try to have milo situated, but I would think that it will be sad to see milo in a cage after being in a loving home. Very sad.....
