Yes once you receive your bill call the billing office and explain that you need financial assistance and you will receive an assistance application for review by the financial department. You should get a response within 30 days. Sometimes they can help with your prescriptions as well
All hospitals in Maryland have something called charity care where they can get help on their bills you have to apply for it in any case when you go to an emergency room again this is anywhere in Maryland they cannot force you to pay that can come after you afterwards but they cannot force you to pay before they give you service for more information about the programs go online and check it at the Maryland state Hospital cost review commission website there's also Medicaid which provides emergency coverage and medical coverage based on income and total medical bills all hospitals having financial assistance department although many of them are not very helpful
