I just called the restaurant, and was told the birthday special can be received on the actual birthday, the day before, or the day after. They also ask that you bring proof of your birth date, such as a driver's license, birth certificate or report card. They will also automatically charge 18% gratuity if someone in the party is getting the birthday special. Hope this helps.
Since there are multiple conflicting answers to this question, I would suggest CALLING the restaurant (which you SHOULD have done in the first place), rather that getting a wrong answer.
I have been a million times on my b-day. And 5 days before my b-day and 5 days after my b-day and same for my husband and we show our I.D and it has been free each and every time.😄

No you have to go on your birthday and show identification proving it's your birthday.
