You always have to pay for a battery(tires and other wear and tear items), they are not covered by warranty unless you specified that at purchase. Most likely it cheaper and quicker to head to an auto parts store.

If the car was used, you have to buy your own battery. Unless you bought one of the packages that covers it thru insurance.
