I would call the train station direct. I know a track does come north to utica as I have taken the train to NYC from utica. But the Adirondack train leaves from utica. So you'd have to take the train up here and then transfer to the Adirondack train. Good luck its a nice ride up north.

You probably need to check with Amtrak if they have service that stops in Utica.
