Rare to see crocodiles in the lake I think - 5 miles back down the road at Royal Palms is full of them - good viewing of them and lots of other wildlife. Some canoeing and kayaking opportunities in surrounding lakes nearby - better within a couple hours driving. Long Pine Key is a great area to spend some time.

It is Florida. I'd be concerned if there weren't alligators.

I won't recommend for swimming. But it is nice to go kayaking or canoeing.

Not severe at all. I would never go swimming, though!
