You can get into the base by getting a temporary pass at the welcome center. You need an ID and your vehicle registration. Depending on the wait line, it doesn't take long to get the pass once it's your turn. Minors don't need one of they're in the vehicle with you as long as you have a pass. Any one over 18 in the vehicle will need to get a pass as well.
Definitely need to obtain a visitors pass at the main gate visitors center need ID or a passport to get your permit no exceptions will do a background check on you before issuing a pass it is quick and painless depending on how many are waiting to process we were 25 down in the line and took a little over a half hour to get our pass
