Is it safe to walk a half mile on Page Street from the muni to the hotel after a Friday night game at AT&T Park? Is this better than the muni that has stops near the civic center (Tenderloin District?) but has a shorter walk from Haight Street?

Yes. I was traveling alone when I stayed there in March and walked back & forth between the Muni stop on Page & the hotel, and felt completely safe doing so even after dark. I don't think the Page Street stop is 1/2 mile. It seemed shorter to me. I feel safer walking from Page than from Haight and in general like to avoid busses that stop in the Tenderloin. If you don't like walking uphill, you can walk downhill from the Metro to the stop on Haight and downhill from the stop on Page to the Metro.

We walked the whole neighborhood day and night and felt completely safe the entire time. Always be vigilant no matter where you are but you should be fine.

I'd say it's a safe walk. As with everywhere now days, be alert and aware.

Safe as you can be in America

Same here. No worries when walking in the area.

I walked a lot at night in this area and never felt unsafe, but I was always with another person.
