The Salvation Army of Concord provides food boxes resources to those in need of food assistance in the area. There is a fresh food distribution on Thursday afternoons. There is a clothing closet as well. They provide financial assistance in the areas of rent and utilities. The Christmas efforts are Red Kettle collections that help fund the Angel Tree program. This program helps provide gifts for families in need for their children, as well as Senior citizens, also food boxes during the holiday season. There is also am emergency shelter for homeless in our community - the shelter residents are provided a hot supper every day, as well as breakfast. (the capacity there, of course has its limits.)
