Will Someone PLEASE Tell Me WHY They Are CUTTING DOWN SO MANY TREES ON BADIN LAKE ????? ON NATIONAL FOREST !!!!

I talked to a ranger about some clearing they were doing he said the same thing Laura said it's just controlled cutting he also said it was easier and safer than a controlled burn both are ugly to see after they are done but nessacerry

I'm not sure where you are talking about exactly, (hopefully not housing developments!!) but they have been doing forestry clearing to help get the old stuff cleaned out around Uwharrie. We had bad issues with beetles killing lots of trees over the past few years and trees were falling down everywhere. Natural fires would normally help with these issues but these days they have to do controlled burns and cuttings. Towards the campgrounds, many acres have been cleared for new growth.
