I want to avoid hunting areas as a hiker. Is there such an area that would be considered worth the drive of 2 hours (and with my Boston terrier dog) that would also allow for views and best of scenic trail?

The hunting areas are all separated from the tourist areas. Lots of trails to hike and many other activities and all of them area easy access and free from the hunting areas. Camping, hiking, swimming, fishing and beautiful scenery. Come to the Uwharries and ENJOY!

Hunting is allowed in Uwharrie Natl. Forest as well as 4 x 4 recreation trails. Kings Mountain Point in the Uwharrie Forest has paved trails but is no challenge for the avid hiker. Morrow Mountain on the opposite side of the river has horse and hiking trails and no hunting is allowed.

Morrow Mountain has nice hiking trails and no hunting allowed. Has nice views and you will see deer all in the woods while you hike. Pull them up online

Morrow Mountain state park in stanly county has some great trails. Nice view from the top and fishing on the Pre Dee river.
