Oil should be changed every 5000 miles or 3 months , every 10000 or 6 months if synthetic
Depends on make and model of vehicle
I only change my oil when the light comes on saying 15% life left..sometimes I wait till 10% life..it never loses oil. So I suggest following that instead. Honda CRV 2009.
